This 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500XD 170 Extended AWD Dually has fewer than 1,000 miles and a recently completed professional custom conversion. The interior was designed as a multipurpose space combining the passenger capacity and comfort of a luxury shuttle with the flexibility and equipment of a light adventure and travel van.
The van seats eight and provides substantial interior space for passengers, luggage, recreational equipment, or an expandable sleeping platform. The open rear area can be configured for sleeping, changing, relaxing, or carrying gear without committing the entire interior to a permanent camper layout.
Power is provided by Mercedes-Benz's high-output 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, rated at 208 horsepower and paired with a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. All-wheel drive with torque-on-demand provides additional traction, while the 170-inch EXTENDED Dually configuration provides increased interior length and carrying capacity.
The conversion was professionally built from the vehicle up rather than assembled from a kit. A substantial auxiliary electrical system is centered around an EcoFlow 5 kVA Power Kit Gen 2 with a 5 kWh LFP battery mounted in the rear. The system incorporates a high-output inverter, alternator and shore-power charging, digital monitoring, and app-based control.
An 8,500-BTU auxiliary air-conditioning unit is mounted in the rear passenger-side area and operates from the auxiliary electrical system. Multiple 110V and 12V outlets are installed throughout the interior.
Eight custom-ordered black leatherette reclining seats provide comfortable passenger seating while retaining room to move through the cabin. The rear area incorporates an expandable sleeping platform that can be deployed when overnight accommodations are desired.
The interior features two separate lighting systems: bright general illumination and a second system providing adjustable-color ambient lighting. Overhead cabinets provide substantial storage without consuming the central floor area.
A 60-quart dual-zone 12V/110V refrigerator/freezer and cassette toilet are included. A television provides entertainment for passengers, while natural Havelock wool insulation was installed throughout the cabin.
